Such beautiful pictures...I love to see the familiar faces, both dog and human, come to life in this internet-world. On a weekday afternoon last week, I took a vacation day to take Lacey for a romp at Ellison. I was greeted at the parking lot by the sight of two of Monroe County's finest, astride horses that had been trucked in from Mendon. They were writing a ticket for a woman with two dogs caught in the criminal act of being off leash. The fine for the ticket would amount to fifty bucks. I couldn't help but wonder...how much county funds were spent that day...salary and benefits for two law officers, the cost of maintaining two horses, the cost for gas to truck them in from Mendon...to what end? Last year my property tax bill was just over five thousand dollars. Half of that for county taxes. So, my tax dollars at work...patrolling Ellison Park for the criminal element who only want to enjoy the same benefits as other county residents...a walk in the park. Wouldn't Monroe County's resources be better spent on providing access to parks for all of it's citizens? What's wrong with this picture?
Hey...long time no see. What have you been up to? I keep asking about you. Other people see you, but I don't. Email me and I'll try to be there when you are. Lacey needs to see you before winter sets in.

Man, the tales those old trees could tell. It astounds me just thinking about it!
