While dog lovers are scrambling to avoid dogcops each day, the beavers in the park are having a heyday. I spotted four trees about to tumble, two of them at dog beach. Maybe scarce County resources could be used relocating these toothy critters and protecting the trees instead of harassing parkgoers and pups. Healthy sociability and harmless joy should have precedence over loss and destruction, wouldn't you think?

Meanwhile,
In related wildlife news...
On May 2, 2008, it seemd that there was mass disease of a psychological-nature affecting wild rabbits. It has been dubbed the: "Bunny Death Wish".
Today, your local, friendly, animal emergency clinic has encountered several of these bunnies who have recklessly thrown themselves in front of automotive instruments of destruction. Sadly, their situation was not compatible with life.
On the way home from work, the author of this comment ran into one of these lunatic bunnies, madly hopping it's way across the expressway. Luckily, this bunny escaped the same fate as it's brothers and sisters.
If you see one of these crazed bunnies, stop for a moment, even ask it to come inside for a cup of coffee. Demand that it stay out of the road. Remind it that joy should have precedence over loss and destruction, and that caution is warranted.
